Mike King is a New York-based author, a stand-up comedian as well as a pediatric dentist. He is originally from Denver, Colorado. His mother, Edna, was a homemaker and did volunteer work. His father, Sid, was the owner of the famous Denver night club, Sid King’s Crazy Horse Bar.  Andrea, his sister, lives in Texas and is an interior designer.

Mike went to the University of Southern California and the University of Colorado. He graduated from Temple Dental School. He worked for a time as a general dentist in a public health clinic. It was there that Mike realized dentistry was much more satisfying when he treated children. He decided he wanted to study pediatric dentistry and moved to New York City for his residency program.

Considered by his friends to be, “a funny guy”, Mike always wanted to try standup comedy. He auditioned and became a regular at New York City’s premier comedy club, Catch A Rising Star. He went on to also work regularly at the New York Improv and Dangerfields, while performing at comedy clubs all over the East Coast. He has been on numerous television shows and featured in many publications.

Mike currently can be seen at Broadway Comedy Club. For the last several years he has been performing in his well-reviewed play, The Fifth Dentist, and is developing a musical version.

Mike spends most of his free time with his wife Sophie and daughter, Annabelle.
